Remove zeros in a number (trim field entry)

I have number fields with order numbers such as: 00076598 and need a script to remove the first three zeros if they appear in any record. I would also like to have the text automatically reformatted to appear as 76598 if someone enters the zeros in a new record.

The field is currently a number field, not sure if it needs to be a text field.

Alrighty, apparently this was a simple answer and I solved it myself under the number format options.

Otherwise would Abs( be quite hand if the field continues to be of format text...
