Record opened in another window error

I have recently converted a FM5 data application to FM7 hosted on an OsX machine. The conversion worked very smoothly but I am finding little things that do not work right. This one is being a real problem. The customer file layout has a portal to an order file; the order file is related by a customer number. The order file is also related to a line item file by the order number. A new order is created from the customer layout by a button that creates a new order record through the portal on the layout then opens that orders file and allows the addition of line items through a portal in the order file layout. When I first tried this new order process on the converted app, everything worked great until I tried to add a line item. Then I got this error box that said the record could not be modified because it was open in another window. (it never tells you which record) I finally added a commit command to my new order script and that seemed to fix it. But now it has manifested again. When I toggle (go to related record command) back to the customer record from the new order record to modify a new customer record, I get the same error message. When I toggle (go to related record command) back to the order record again from the customer record I get the same message again. This all worked under FM5, but it seems as though FM7 doesn’t commit records like it did in FM5 or something. I tried adding commit commands but then the GTRR command doesn’t work. ( it also seemed silly to assign a script to a button that only needed a GTRR command before) By the way I develop on a windows box and the application runs on the OsX machine and this behavior doesn’t happen if I run the application on a windows machine. Can anyone shed light on this?

I had some excellent help on this the other day - my query was posted to the Layouts forum - titled Add new record in new window; post number #174181
