Not able to connect via WEB...

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have a static internal I.P OS X 10.4 server running with FMSA 7 on a clients novell network (the novel network is server standard IP protocols with win XP clients and our server does not communicate with the novel side of things at all)

When I goto http://localhost/fmi/iwp on the server the web publishing works fine.

If I access from a PC on the network at http://192.168.x.x/fmi/iwp again it works fine.

If from our office i goto...

http://81.178.x.x/fmi/iwp my browser just says connecting.

I have had the customers IT department open their smoothwall firewall ports to redirect to our server...

TCP Ports

5003

50006

50003

16008-16018

80

UDP Ports

5003

16008-16018

Any suggestions?

Should I ensure port 80 is open?

Also their IT support company appears to have some form of Proxy Server running would this affect it? I cant see how as it looks like it only used for outbound traffic.

I ask as their IT company are not the most helpful people in the world.

I hope all of the above makes sense, many thanks in advance.

Since you are connecting using http, port 80 does need to be opened. Does the default non-FileMaker home page (http://81.178.x.x) open from your office?

No it doesn't do you want the I.P address?

It kicks out not responding error.
