I would like to know how to selectively pick a list of records that match a certain criteria from another file.

For ex: For employees: I want a popup list of developers from my Employee database but only employees with position "developer"

Try the following:

In your employee database create the following fields:

Employee Name (TEXT)

Employee Position (TEXT)

Developers List (CALCULATION)

where the calculation is:

If( Employee Position = "developer", Employee Name, "")

Define a value list 'Developers' and check the options 'Use values from field ...' and specify 'Developers List'

In your second file define a value list 'Developers' and check the option 'Use value list from another file' and specify 'Developers from file "Employee DB.fp5" '

You can now specify this value list where you require it.
