Newbies ngregoire Posted March 6, 2006 Newbies Posted March 6, 2006 My office uses a FM 5.5 database with Server 5. I need to password protect certain files so that staff do not accidentally delete records or entire files. There are no passwords in use at present. On the files I want to protect, I can't get the "Change Password" or "Access Privileges" pull down to highlight- it's grayed out. Any ideas?
Vaughan Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Yes. You need to close the files from FMS and open them in FMP to make changes to access privileges.
Newbies ngregoire Posted March 7, 2006 Author Newbies Posted March 7, 2006 Vaughn- Thanks for the info. So, I need to shut down the FM Server application and then open the files in FMP 5 from the server itself?
