pdfs "printing" but not appearing

hi i am using a custom database (running fm 5.5 via classic mode on os x 10.4) that, until recently, printed reports to pdf. now i am getting all the same options, distiller opens and seems to make the pdf, but no file shows up in the save location. can anyone help with finding the cause...assuming it's an os issue?
