Newbies CCinHonolulu Posted March 10, 2006 Newbies Posted March 10, 2006 We are using FileMaker Server Advanced 7, and are utilizing Instant Web Publishing (iwp) for users to access the databases. Is there a way to tell who is using the databases? If the client had FileMaker Pro 7 installed on their desktop and performed an Open Remote we can see the users who are on through the FileMaker Server Admin tool. Second question, our user forgot to log off when using iwp and now the record is locked. Is there a way to unlock it without having to close and re-open the file? We also noticed that the locked record could be accessed through Open remote. Now that isn't so good if we have users accessing the database through the web and client. Any suggestions? thanks for your help in advance!
Steven H. Blackwell Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 You can set an idle time disconnect for the user who didn't log out. Check the WPE Admin Console. Locking a record via IWP also locks it for a FileMaker pro client and vice versa. Were you experiencing something different? Steven
