Portal only allows one record to be added!

Hi,

Somewhat new to FM, but have been doing relational database stuff for years. I've got one table, "people" w/PK peopleID, and related table "people new clients referred", with a FK field 'peopleID'. Allow new records is checked in the relationship definition, but when the layout is used, the portal will only allow one record. Clicking on the second row only hihglights the entire row, but won't allow me to enter data in the 2nd record!

Anyone seen this behavior? There are two screenshots attached - one of the relationships view, and one of the portal showing the 2nd row highlighted.

Thanks!

Matt

Hi Matt35,

in the child table, what datatype is PeopleID. Is it also a calculated field?

Hi,

The key fields (PeopleID) are all serial numbers.

problem solved though - my fields in the portal were 1 pixel above the "portal row", which screwed everything up.

Thanks for the reply though!

Matt
