The senario is a customer can request for pickup or delivery with a rate per shipment. in the report, i would like also to sort in terms of pickup or delivery and who delivers it. should i use relationship. what i did i made two tables one for pickup and one for delivery. i tried to sort out but it wont work. i might missing something. can somebody send sample freight database. i would appreciate it very much. thanks. Conartist Posted March 16, 2006 Share Posted March 16, 2006 Wouldn't all packages need to be picked up AND delivered? It maybe better to think of the record as a "routing" record. Essentially a pickup record and a delivery record would contain the same type of information and would not need to be in seperate tables. A routing record would probably contain a time and place regardless of if it is a pickup or a delivery. You could have a field that designated the routing record as either a pickup type record or a delivery type record so that you can sort by that field.
