chrismarriott Posted April 12, 2001 Posted April 12, 2001 Hi all, I have a popup list that is using values from a related field. I have two values showing up in the list - supplier number and the supplier name. The value that actually gets filled into the field when you make a choice is the supplier number. Here's my problem: I have the relationship that the lis is based on sorted by supplier name, but the popup list sorts by the customer number (which I assume is following alphabetical order). Is there a way to get this list to sort by supplier name, or any other field for that matter? Thanks for any help, Chris
Moon Posted April 13, 2001 Posted April 13, 2001 First, value lists are not based on relationships. In other words, you do not have to have a relationship to define a value list. All you need to do is select the file in the define value lists, and then select the first and if necessary, second field to display (both must be in the same file.) If two fields are selected to display, you can click the "sort by" button near the bottom of the dialog box for either the first or second field you have selected.
chrismarriott Posted April 13, 2001 Author Posted April 13, 2001 I have to use a relationship, but I totally overlooked the radial check box that enables you to sort by the second value. This was my problem! Thanks for the help, Chris
