Way to suppress text field frame?

Is there any possible way to keep FileMaker from placing the black outline around a text field when it's selected by the user for editing -- or maybe change the color of the line? Turning off Show Text/Field Boundaries doesn't work, nor does placing the field behind a white line frame.

I'm starting to believe the answer is "no", but I thought I would ask before I abandon the idea.
