Newbies Dan Rademacher Posted April 3, 2006 Newbies Posted April 3, 2006 I see that a lot of folks have had much graver troubles than I with printing in FM 7 on OS X, but I'm hoping for an easy fix to my problem: I have a FM 4.1 solution with a lot of reports that print with .25" margins, to cram in information at a legible point size. FM 4.1 has no trouble printing these on our HP 2100 series laser printer, which can go to within 1/8" of every edge. But FM 7 takes the same layouts and chops them off at 3/8" on one side and about 1/2" on the other. I have updated my printer drivers, and other programs (like InDesign) can print right up to the printer's capacity, but I can't find anything in FM's features, my third-party book, or FM help/knowledge base about telling FM that the imageable area of the printer is larger than the program is currently assuming. Is there a way to edit this setting? Thanks!
Vaughan Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Check your Page Setup: is it set to your specific printer or to "any printer"? If set to any printer MacOS X uses the *widest* non-printing margins, no matter what printer is selected (think old inkjet printers with 1/2 inch bottom margin).
