Copying data from one file to another

Featured Replies

I have 3 files for a check in progam for our school. When a parent checks in their student I want to copy thier student number and paste it into a different file so that we can track when and how often students sign in late. I'm using Copy/Paste but most of the time it doesn't paste the student # into the reports file.

Thanks for your help in advance.

You need to provide us with more detail: You mention 3 files--what are they, and how do they relate? How is this process initiated? Is there some button on screen? Are you using a script? What are the steps?

One of the files are just going to be a portal that has buttons pointing to the other files. The second one will be a data file with student names and other data. The third will be a reports file. When I have a parent check in a child I want to have the student # from the data file copied and pasted to the reports file which will then look up the rest of the students personal data.
