you would be better off upgrading to FM8v2. There are less bugs

with any new FM version, you can open and convert all your files, with data, in one step

But, conversion is not completely seamless. Be sure to read the conversion whitepapers available on the FM web site. The converted solution will require some fixing, e.g. script steps, user accounts, & file references

So, be sure to test the converted files "off line", then re-import the current data when ready to go
