asevie Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) Straight installation, nothing goofy. Brand new Dell box with XP Home (I know, I need to use Server OS). -Installed FMServer 8 Advanced. -Went to another PC and opened files via remote. -Saw sample file listed, opened it. -Moved one of my own files into the appropriate folder. -Could not see it. -Checked access rights. -Grabbed latest version of FMServer (8.0.3) Updater, updated server. -Could not see or connect to any of the files. -Uninstalled everything after a few hours of playing around. -Reinstalled. -Did not do update. I can see the server but the sample file (I pulled my own file out) is not listed in the Available Files column. Status is normal. Computers can see each other. I've looked through everything. Any ideas? Edited May 10, 2006 by Guest
asevie Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 Well, I'm not sure why this happened as I didn't change anything with the built in Firewall, however, after turning it off, the files are available...
Steven H. Blackwell Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 XP Home is not an appropriate OS. Also, don't expect web publishing to work on XP. Steven
