Can Filemaker use filters for searching ? Example

A search box and a list of checkmark buttons linked to databases that are called up into the search results when the check box is checked.

I search a portion of text in the search box, and then press the filter buttons to restrict the databases to look in, Free, Commercial, press. ...

And it returns these databases in the layout. They have the same layout and database fields.

I have tried this kinda thing in the past to no avail.
