i have windows 2003 sp1 and been trying to figure out how to have fms set it's web publishing port to different port other than it's default port 80. is this possible? the port 80 has already been taken over by sharepoint.

thanks

Web Publishing is controlled by IIS. If you want to use the alternate Port 509, 6you could. But the control is at IIS.

I presume you are using Server Advanced.

Steven is correct. The internal communication between the WPE and the web server runs over ports 16014, 16016, and 16018. IIS uses then port 80 for external HTTP communication, and you must change this port for your virtual host(s) if there is a port conflict with another software.

sharepoint uses 8030, i dont see the conflict between those 2.. what i need to know is that how do i check for port 16014-16018 to see if they are open or not ?

i know that i might have started at wrong foot with FMSA

at this point on IIS i do not have default website, no idea if the ports are open and running for Publishing Engine, as it showed in FMSA, everything is up and running healthy, but still there are nothing at http:localhost/fmi/config..

also i tried to use Filemaker Site Assistant, tried to use server's IP, or 'localhost' it's showing could no connect to server.

Turn off SharePoints. You need a dedicated server.

Ports 16008-16018 are required if you have the 2:1, the 1:2, or the 1:1:1 Server Advanced configuration.

Take a look at the Admin Manual that comes with FM Server as well as the QuickStart Guide.
