I've just completed a database but have a few outstanding issues...

1) If I leave a layout with a tab control and then come back to it from another layout why does the first layout not remember what tab it was on? It ends up on a different tab, how can this be fixed?

2) With a portal in a tab and each time I create a record in that portal the tab control will jump to another one of its tabs, why is this behavior? How do I stop this from happening?

Well, regarding tabs, the way they behave is they have a "default" tab, the default tab is the tab you were last on in layout mode. When going to your layout through a script, you can change this so called default tab to one that you desire by adding a "Goto Field" script step somewhere in that scrpit. The field you must select should be a field present on the tab you want filemaker to default to.
