I have created a 5 file solution, tested it, congratulated myself, then renamed the files with the developer tool, designated a place to save the new solution, checked the box for "files must have FM extension" and created the new solution.

The Navigation buttons in the copied solution don't work. All 5 files are open, so the opening script works, and Server8 is doing O.K. serving up the files, the button scripts also look O.K. to me with the new file names. I suspect the "File Reference" has something to do with it but it has the new file names and file path list of each of the files, repeated in each of the five files. (Name)xxx "file path list" File:xxx.FP7

Any body else having this problem ?

Re add each of them individually.

The developer tool does not change any hard-coded references to file names in calculations. It only changes file references in relationships and external scripts and the like.

Does your navigation use hard-coded file names?
