I've just completed a plug-in to work with Custom Web Publishing. The plug-in enables you to instantly grab images/files and insert them into a FileMaker container field.

Here is my FX.php example :

The plug-in also works with IWP (sample movie)

We also use another cool technique to grab RSS feed information and using PHP automatically convert the information into images which we can automatically insert into container fields as well.

Enjoy!

Stephen,

From your movie (good job as usual) it is not readily apparent that this runs fully natively on CWP. It appears that you do need to have the plugin installed on the client machines for it to put the image in the containers.

I understand you put the file name into the text field after uploading the file, but is your container set to an auto enter calc to populate the container.

Can you demo with the container image returned to the php page after the upload without interaction with a FileMaker client.

Hi Andy, Thank you for your kind words. Actually you only have to have the plug-in on the Server Advanced machine. Here is a test page you can try.

No special settings needed for the container field. The plug-in does everything :)

I'll also make a movie demonstrating the plug-in showing this technique.

We have updated this web page to demonstrate some of the new features of Grab-it. This is a FX.php website being served on FileMaker Server Advanced 8.
