Problem w/ 2000 server & XP client

I work for a small company that has been using Filemaker with no serious issues for a while now. We have a Windows 2000 server running Filemaker 5.0 Server. Up until recently, all the client machines were running Windows 2000 and Filemaker 5.0.

We recently purchased a new client machine running Windows XP. With Filemaker 5.0 or 5.5, the machine seems to have many problems opening or working with the Filemaker databases. Either the database will not open and Filemaker will crash, or the database will open, but Filemaker will crash after working with it for a while.

The problems are very inconsistent. One time a certain database will open, other times the same database will crash when opened. Any ideas? I have all the latest Filemaker updates installed.
