From what versions of FM8 can one share a file as an ODBC data source?

If I understand you correctly -

You can have FM8 & FM8 Advanced be the host, but the limitation is that other data 'puller' has to be installed on the same computer as FM. Or in other words, a 'local' connection only. This is limiting or impossible if used in a corporate setting.

If a 'networked' solution is needed (puller on a different computer), then FM Server 8 Advanced will be needed. In a production setting, this will be the more realistic scenario.

Gone are the days of 'Local' and 'Remote' Data Access Companions.
