jburge Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Is there any reason this xml url sorts just fine when hitting Server 7, but returns only the found set without a sort from Server 8? http://myserver.com/fmi/xml/fmresultset.xml?-db=myDB&-lay=myLayout&district=1234&-sortfield.1=district&-find I've checked the custom web guides and don't see any mention of syntax being changed between versions of Server. Thanks in advance!
Martin Brändle Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 No, this is strange. Did you apply ALL the updaters? FMS 8v3 FMSA 8v3 Web Publishing http://www.filemaker.com/support/
jburge Posted June 20, 2006 Author Posted June 20, 2006 Yep -- 8.0v3 (03-21-2006) is what the admin tool is showing me (we have a remote service hosting for us). That's what makes it so weird. It's a brand new machine and brand new server with all the updates.
Martin Brändle Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Cache problem of the browser? Web performance cache turned on on web server? (has to be turned off). Try also with additional -sortfield.1=ascend or -sortfield.1=descend and district.op=bw Index of district field corrupted? Turn indexing off and on again.
jburge Posted June 20, 2006 Author Posted June 20, 2006 (edited) I tried clearing everything (cache, history, cookies) from the browser and still the same results. Where is web peformance cache configured? I'm not seeing it in the admin tool? I tried ascend, descend, and a variety of operators and still end up with the same result. The indexing was a great idea, but it didn't change the results. I tried again with it off, and turned it back on with the same results. I even tried different fields and still come back without a sort. I can send you a couple sample links offline so you can see how it happens. OK, I just restarted the web publishing engine and now the sorts are working... Thanks! Edited June 20, 2006 by Guest
