I have been advised that if I want to share data and automate an export to another ODBC client application we will need filemaker server. Is this so?

FMP will be work....but the ODBC client must sit on the same computer (i.e. connet via 127.0.0.1)

provide that you turn on your Filemaker Pro ALL the time

or FileMaker Server Advance for remote computer to access the ODBC.
