MRH Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Can anyone else try the English Extras/Examples/Web Viewer Example/Web Viewer Example.fp7 And see if the PDFs example of the Web Viewer works with you, I just get a blank window. Or if a file you've created works. OSx 10.4.7 FileMaker Pro Advanced 8.5v1 Safari 2.0.4 Acrobat Reader 7.0.7 What did you use? Thanks Mark
Fenton Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 It works for me. It obviously requires that the PDFs used for examples, and the Web Viewer itself, be left in the folder where FileMaker installed them. It's relying on local file paths, after all. In the FileMaker folder, the PDFs were in: Electronic Documentation I don't know what Acrobat Reader would have to do with it, unless it's messed up your default preferences for viewing PDFs. I don't even have it installed on my machine (iMac Intel). Otherwise I have the software that you mentioned.
Bozkid Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Go to the Adobe Reader "Internet" preferences and unmark the "Display PDF in browser using:" checkbox. This will fix the problem.
MRH Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 Hi Bozkid, That's it! - works a treat - thanks. "Wood for the trees" springs to mind. Mark
MRH Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 (edited) Me again, Another related question for you all. Has anyone managed to get the WebViewer to show a pdf via a web browser, as I may need to show training pdf's from within a web hosted database. And is Bozkid's solving of the loading within Filemaker itself Go to the Adobe Reader "Internet" preferences and unmark the "Display PDF in browser using:" checkbox. a factor in viewing a pdf in a browser?. All I get is a blank viewer even when switching Acrobats pref's. Also: Are lush PDF/Illustrator derived backgrounds a possibility!!!?. I'll be doing some tests over the weekend. Food for thought!
