I want to restrict peoples access to certain layouts, but if they are not allowed in a certain layout I want a message to come up allong the lines of "you are not allowed....."

I understand the access privileges bit, and how to show messages etc, but not how to establish within a script whether someone has access privileges.

I this possible?

It is mainly to avoid the horrible grey screen with the 'no access' message that someone gets if they do not have access.
