I'm at the stage where I'm considering using an installer program such as Installer Vise for installing and updating my solution. What is the best way to install new versions and transfer the data from the old version?

Is the data stored in the data fork of the file? Can the data remain while updating the resource with VISE?

Just looking for an easier way...
