FM 8.0v4 Universal?

Featured Replies

I think this is probably a stupid question... does there exist a universal binary version of FM 8.0v4 (client, not server)? If not, is 8.5 the only universal binary FM client planned?

I realize there is a UB of FMS 8.0v4 -- already using it.

I would doubt that FileMaker would release a free upgrade to FileMaker 8.0v4 for UB when 8.5 UB is a paid upgrade. It is definitely worth it though. It seems to be about twice as fast (on an Mac Intel), not to mention the cute web viewer.

There is no such version as FM Pro 8.0v4. No version of FMP 8.0 is universal binary. FMP 8.5 is the first UB version.

That's what I meant, that there would not be a FileMaker 8.0v4; at least that's what I meant to say.

Thanks to all -- FileMaker support replied with the same info.

Next question -- anyone out there on VLAs received 8.5 yet?

I received mine through email They are not sending hard copy discs. Bummer.

That info came from the VLA sales department. I called them after waiting 3 weeks after 8.5 came out and had not recieved the discs. I had been emailed when 8.5 came out but did not realize it was a download. The sent me a new email with the downloads.
