Speeding up Calculation Fields

Hello,

I have a slew of calculation fields in one of my files. However, 90% of them are calculations of related fields, and -- as far as I know -- they cannot be indexed. Consequently, the page loads VERY slowly.

Is there any other way in Filemaker 5.5 to speed up the calculation field displays?

This seems like being large account's summing in a book keeping'ish kind of system. Just give it a thought what kind of algoritm were used for centuries before the arrival of computerized ledgers??

It wasn't something that took days to establish, if a venetial merchant really could afford an offer on spices, fabrics or whatever, neither was it a hunch, but a established method: the ledger!
