I have a database with about 400,000 records in it. I recently went to change a particular field in the database affecting about 120,000 records by using the "replace" function. Basically, changing the name in a field from "Jason" to "Matt". It processed all but about 400 records and generated an error message indicating such. I then performed a find function for "Jason" records which found the 400 records that appeared to be completely empty. These records were, however, uneditable. Moreover, when I tried to "delete found records" it appeared to delete them (although upon closer examination the number of records was not decreasing) and when I then performed the find on them again, they were still there.

I have no idea what caused them and they don't appear to be causing a problem (although in start up it the DB appears to performing a mystery "replace" function. Can anybody tell me what is causing these records and how to get them deleted.

Worried,

Wes
