Pulling in Data from Database

Featured Replies

  • Newbies

I am a beginner, working from a business user stand point, but a former programmer. I work for a 4 person contracting company that is keeping track of prices in an Excel spreadsheet in a Mac environment. Based on what I have seen in FM, it looks like we should be able to access data from a database so as prices change, those updates can be pulled from a central source. Is that correct? If so, please direct me to some documentation on where to start.

Thanks,

Mark

Yes you can extract data from FM with AppleScript.

If you are familar with AppleScript you can check the Dictionary for Filemaker Pro to see the functions available.

Good Luck.
