Newbies eoinie Posted October 16, 2006 Newbies Posted October 16, 2006 Hi I am trying to build a music archive database. One of the layouts has graphic buttons of various instruments featured in the archive. Another layout is a list of all the instruments in the database. I'd like to be able to click on the instrument icon in the first layout and reveal only the entries pertaining to that instrument in the the second layout. I've tried using omit all and find but I've hit a wall. This would really get me out of a jam. Also. I live in Cork in Ireland and would be keen to find someone who could train me to a reasonable level of expertise in FM. Thanks in advance
aldipalo Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I believe the following example will help. Look at the layout "Quotes." Notice the a - z buttons and the use of Get(Script Parameter) in the script "Alpha Sort." Since there a only a few entries I'd suggest running through the names before you click the buttons. The buttons are set to find names that contain the letter you are clicking on. From there you should be able to resolve your problem. Of course I'm assuming (oh I hate that word) that you have a field in your table that gives the name of your instrument. Sales_Rep.zip

jteich Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 When you have (or create) an extra table for the groups of instruments you can find the related instruments simply by go-to-related-record Jens p, git, voc
