I posted this a few weeks ago but really had a chance to look into the problem so lets see if I can be a little more descriptive.

The problem: Blank records are being created in a database(this should not be happening).

Background: I have sorted through some things and found that the relationship between this database1 and database2 is an(=) and has the checkbox "allow creation of records into this table via the relationship" under database2. However when I uncheck the box I am no longer able to use the dropdown box (as in it becomes unclickable)on the database1 to see the files of Database2.

Question: Is there a way to set this relationship up to still be able to use the dropdown box and to have it not create blank records in database2?

This was caused by hiring an outside consultant to come in to fix other problems within the databases. I cant use a backup because of those problems. So please please help me. I have tinkered with the value lists and I am still getting the blank records in database2.

The field connected to the checkbox obviously is a related field.

It is hard to say why this is the case without knowing what is going on in your database.

If it is a self-relationship, you might try to connect the field without the relation.

If it is a field from a remote table you might consider to move this field to your main table.

I have checked the field properties and the value lists assoiciated with everything and havent seen anything different from a version that was working properly.There has to be some other place that I need to check, so please suggest anything you think of, I am truely desperate on this one.

When i click in the dropdown box in database1, click out of the field and then go to database2 the blank record is already there with the title of the contract that I selected in Database2.

Please help......

Also could I just export all my current records into the old versions? Would that help matters? Or would it not make a difference?
