hello..have an fm4 and want to upgrade to 6.0 unlimited on a diffrent machine..I have installed 6.0 on the new server but I don't know how to move all those files from the 4.0 fmserver..

I haven't had any contact with the database before so have little controll over what to do with which files

Just move the database files to the new machine and open them with the new version.

which files are the database files..the fd5 files?? not fd5 but something similar...

They may or may not have a .fp3 extension if they were from FileMaker 4. They will get converted to FM5/6 format when you open them in FM6, and should acquire a .fp5 extension.
