Philadelphia FileMaker Developer Group - November Meeting Details

Due to Thanksgiving, the November meeting will be held on the fifth Thursday this month.

We'll start the evening with open Questions and Answers.

Our feature presentation will be delivered by Michael Reddy, PhD. regarding FileMaker from the perspective of the in-house developer:

Building more systems from scratch, more likely to be working with the latest revs, FileMaker consultants might be compared to scouts. They are less encumbered--looking typically out ahead and exploring new territory. In-house developers, on the other hand, are many times back in the baggage train. They likely have less-clout, more intense legacy issues, more feature-creep to deal with, and so on. This presentation will suggest (with some examples) that, while discussions from the scouting perspective are essential and wonderful, more and more detailed discussions of problems facing in-house developers would benefit our community as a whole. In-house types would have better tools, and consultants would understand their potential market better.
