Value List Auto-Complete Only Half Working

I have a dynamic value list that's used in a drop-down list with auto-complete. My problem is that the auto-complete only works for the first 318 or so items. Anything after than and no auto-complete, even though the item is in the drop-down list.

Any ideas?
