Newbies endoskeleton Posted November 17, 2006 Newbies Posted November 17, 2006 Hi, I have just started using File Maker Pro 8 and have been battling with a problem for about 6 hours. I know how to find duplicate records in my client database, based on name, address, post code etc, but is it possible to ask File Maker to omit the first record found. This will enable me to delete all of the found set leaving just one record for each client. I would do it my hand but there is 40,000 records to go through. Any and all help is appreciated. Many thanks
Genx Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Take a look at this thread: http://www.fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/179030/post/216003/hl// However just use your client ID as the value you are comparing.
Genx Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Just as a side note, before ever executing a script that involves deleting a large portion of your data... make sure you have a backup of the file.
