cclub75 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 (edited) Hi, I've got a FM Server 7.03 Windows XP, on a local network. I would like to access it, from outside, with a simple and secure solution. I've made some tests with Hamachi (VPN peer to peer) on 2 simples PC and simple FM7. It works great. My question is is it possible, or reasonable, to install Hamachi on the PC runing the FM Server ? Or the rule is really to not install any other software on the server ? What do you think ? Steven H. Blackwell Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 y question is is it possible, or reasonable, to install Hamachi on the PC runing the FM Server ? Or the rule is really to not install any other software on the server ? Possible, yes. Reasonable or recommended, No, not at all. If what you're trying to do is protect the data in transit, you don't need the VPN. Turn on encryption in FMS. Steven
