Need variable sized Text Box in Table on screen

I'd like something equivalent to sliding (for printing) to occur in Table View on Screen so that Browsing in Table View could look something like the following for a 2 field, 3 record example:

Description_________Item number

Short text_____________349

Longer text____________444

description of

item 444 causes

just this row

to be larger

Another short one______222

Is it possible?
