Problems with "\" text character

I have a simple text field calculation:

"myPCDocumentsPhotographs"& fieldname

For some reason FMPro will not accept it and says "This text constant does not end in a quotation mark". If I remove the "" after the word "Photographs" then it accepts it but reduces the initial "" to just "". Can anyone explain this for me please?

The backslash character is a special character in FM, it acts as the "escape" character meaning that if another "special" character like a quote is entered in there, it will treat it like normal text i.e.

""" will appear as "

"servermypathmyfolder" will appear as servermypathmyfolder
