Email sent by FM being received with character substitutions

I am working on a solution that is using FileMakers Send Mail script step to

generate emails which is sends via Entourage 2004. If the email recipient is

web-based (Yahoo, AOL, etc..) the email comes through showing things such as

quotations as numbers and some HTML code. If the email is received by a

local email application, everything appears fine.

What I have tried so far:

I have set Entourage to generate plain text only emails.

I have tried altering the character set that Entourage is using.

I have synchronized the font between FM and Entourage to Arial.

Any ideas?
