I can generate a value list of ID numbers already in use, and validate from it to verify that an ID number is in use.

Is there any way to use the same list to generate an Id number that is _NOT_ in use?

Alternately, is there any way to make a value list of numbers NOT in another value list, or in a specific field in a multi-record DB?

The last request can be accomplished rather easy, with a value list option like so:
