Hi,

I am a beginner in filemaker programming. I am trying to achieve the following:

In a layout, the user will enter a record number (eg: 0001, 0002, 0003)and click on a button. Based on the number entered the code in the button should connect to an Oracle db using ODBC, get the required values from the selected record and create a record in filemaker db. So, if I enter an employee number and click the button in the layout, the employee name, salary, age etc. should be populated in the layout. How can I achieve this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
