dvalley Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 We have a mixed system (Mac, PC, Win 2000, XP, FM 7, 8.5...). I have developed the files in 8.5, proofed them on the computer which will print them (to the printer which will print them) which is FM 7.03. The problem is, I cannot get the page setup to hold. On a thermo Labeller (Zebra Z4000), it will flip the print job. I reset the page setup on the file and in the script (and even as the default for the machine) and it will work once, then go back to what it was before. Laser printer set for duplex, 2 pages per sheet will revert to one page per sheet (still duplexed). The same settings are used in FM6 (currently running on the same machine)and they hold fine. Does anyone know what is going on?
Newbies Wadrod Posted February 5, 2007 Newbies Posted February 5, 2007 Are you setting the print setup with a script before printing? I had similar problem, then set 2 scripts, 1 for standard A4 printer and another script for Zebra printer. Call script for correct printer from within your printing script.
dvalley Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 Yes, I specified the printer and setup within the script. I have discovered that FMP 8.5 corrects this problem. I had hoped that 8.0 would, but it would not hold one part of the setup. I eventually replaced the aging computer with one which could handle 8.5, and it now works. FileMaker should correct this in previous versions and offer a patch. Not everyone needs 8.5, not has the equipment to handle it.
