Newbies ziggy33 Posted January 11, 2007 Newbies Posted January 11, 2007 Hi guys, my first posting over here, used to post on the old FM forum. I was wondering if anyone has already done the calculation for working our ebay auction fees and would be willing to share. I'm primarily wanting it just for the final fee part and not the listing fee, ie I input the final bid amount and it returns the final fee. eBays fee structure is as follows: £0.01 - £29.99 5.25% for the amount of the highest bid up to £29.99 £30.00 - £599.99 5.25% of the initial £29.99 (£1.57), plus 3.25% of the remaining closing value balance Over £600.00 5.25% of the initial £29.99 (£1.57), plus 3.25% of the initial £30.00 - £599.99 (£18.53), plus 1.75% of the remaining closing value balance As you can see there needs to be upto 3 different percentage calculations depending on the final bid amount, but only use those lower percentages when the amount is higher enough. I'm not too hot with FM's calculations functions so this is very dificult for me. Any help much appreciated.
Fenton Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I did this for someone quite a while ago, for US. I plugged in your English values. Please check carefully before using: Round ( Case ( Final Bid = 0; ""; Final Bid ≤ 29.99; .0525 * Final Bid; Final Bid ≤ 599.99; .0525 * 29.99 + (Final Bid - 29.99) * .0325; Final Bid > 599.99; .0525 * 29.99 + 570 * .0325 + (Final Bid - 599.99) * .0175 ); 2 )
Newbies ziggy33 Posted January 11, 2007 Author Newbies Posted January 11, 2007 Many thanks for that, great that there are clever guys like you out there willing to share your expertise. Sorry to sound a bit stupid though but I'm not entirely sure how to use this calculation. I have created a new number field called 'Final Bid' and then created a new calculation field with the above calculation but I get an error message when trying to OK the calculation. Can you help me to get it to work, thanks!
Newbies ziggy33 Posted January 12, 2007 Author Newbies Posted January 12, 2007 That works perfectly, I have transfered the calculation into my database and it's great. Thank you very much for your time. Good to know there are people like you around. Cheers Ziggy
