January 17, 200718 yr "FileMaker cannot share or be a client of a file because the networking stack could not be initialized." It seems to hapen when a batch script written this way: START C:MyFilesMySolution.fp7 ...is executed. Shouldn't be so that the documents postfix would appeal to relevant application. Here a single client version with server'ish tasks to perfrom in a small peer2peer environment? --sd
July 24, 200718 yr No Idea what it means, but we just (as in today) started seeing it on after pushing out an automated 8.5 install (Windows XP boxes). Only a handfull of users are seeing it and any attempt to open a remote file triggers it. Did you find a solution? Reinstall?
July 25, 200718 yr "Please check to make sure that your server.pem file [located in the root folder of where FileMaker Pro/FileMaker Pro Advanced, i.e. C:Program FilesFileMakerFileMaker Pro 8] is around 5 KB. If it's any smaller than that, then chances are that file is corrupt and can cause this error message to appear. You may be able to copy the server.pem file from a working FileMaker Pro 7 or 8 computer to the computer exhibiting the issue and test." http://filemaker.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/filemaker.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=213 Solved the problem for us
August 14, 200718 yr Newbies We have the probnlem with FMPro7.03 on Vista where it says it can't load the stack. Have tried swapping the server.pem file, and resetting WINSOCK, but no luck (based on the FM Note: http://filemaker.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/filemaker.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=213). It means I can't access our database at all? Some other Vista users are connecting, but they are on FMPro7.01 Any suggestions? :B
August 14, 200718 yr "FMPro7.03 on Vista" I seriously doubt that FMP 7 would run in Vista. Only FMP 8.5v2 is certified.
August 15, 200718 yr Newbies Some Vista machines do run FMPro7, but it is flakey. We connect to an FM7 Server (running on an OSX server) - would an FMPro9 client be able to connect happily to the FM7 server, or would both have to be upgraded?
August 17, 200718 yr Newbies I gave up on trying to get FMPro7 to connect through Vista - installed FMPro9 and this works just fine against the FM7 Server. Ken
August 17, 200718 yr FileMaker Pro 7, FIleMaker Pro 8, and FileMaker Pro 8.5[color:red]v1 are not supported on Vista. Please use FileMaker Pro 8.5[color:red]v2 or FileMaker Pro 9. HTH Steven
