FM Clients hang when connecting to hosts

Featured Replies

I have a Win 2003 box running FM Server 5 with about 20 macs as clients. This setup works fine about 90% of the time. Occasionally, however, the client just hangs when I click on "hosts". Sometimes I can switch to the classic version of FM 5.5 on the clients and they can connect fine, sometimes that doesn't work either. This has never been a problem with the PCs we have as clients, either. Sometimes just one computer has problems connecting, other times none of them can connect until someone else logs off.

Some possible problems I have already crossed off the list:

restarted the server (had the problem again the next day)

changed the switch that the server was connected to (still had problems)

There are about 60 files being hosted, totaling about 10 GB. The server is a 2.8 Xeon with 2 GB of RAM.

This is an incredibly frustrating problem. any help would be appreciated!
