ljm Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I am working with a client who has a db which was virtually flat - it did have one table relationship, but should have had quite a few. Overall skills here are based on a flat model and I would like to make it easy for them to embrace the relational model. At the moment I feel that building that bridge is quite challenging because they are used to the conveniences of a large flat file. Is there an article or summary anyone could recommend to help with this education process? Thank you
T-Square Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Well, you could try: http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahrp.html or: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Database followed by: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relational_model (This last is probably overkill). HTH, David
