Newbies Duncan113 Posted February 3, 2007 Newbies Posted February 3, 2007 HOw do I remove FMP 5 Server from a PC running Windows? I recently upgraded to FMP 8 running a 12 file dbase and for each file an error message says I cant share files as someone else on the computer already is. I thought I'd remove the FMP 5 server - someone tried to do it for me but now I have 6 compnents left which I cant delete. Help!
Steven H. Blackwell Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Did you use the Remove Programs utility in the Control Panels? Steven
Newbies Duncan113 Posted February 3, 2007 Author Newbies Posted February 3, 2007 Steven, When I first tried this I used the remove program function but it did not remove it properly. Someone else then tried to remove it and now what I have left are the following files: fmpsmema.dll, fmpsmesg.dll, fmpsperf.dll, FMPSPROP.dll, fmpsschd.dll, Fmserver FM SErver 5 does not now show up on the remove programs utility, though there is a folder with the above files on C DriveProgram Files. Steven H. Blackwell Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Put the original install CD into the machine and run the repair/remove feature from the CD. That may help. Steven
Newbies Duncan113 Posted February 3, 2007 Author Newbies Posted February 3, 2007 And if I dont have the original disc - what can I do then?
Steven H. Blackwell Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 There is an uninstaller utility for Server 5.5 found at: ftp://ftp.apple.com/filemaker/Updaters/Win/fms_55_trial_win_msi_upd.zip It might--I say might-help. Otherwise you may be looking at a general drive cleanup. Steven
