Is there a way to encrypt a database on the fly as well as have a password? I am in FMP 6 though.

Are you looking to protect the database communication over the internet or protect the file from being opened by someone else?

BTW: This is a security question not an article, tip, trick or technique.

You could try true crypt software -- it's free, google it.

OS X also supports encryption through the use of disk images. Use Disk Utility to set up an encrypted image and store your file on that.
